Oh. my. god.
I just made one of the best book purchases of my life. (and I owe
otakumeep a thank you for the nudge!)
I am now the proud owner of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
It is made of win. It's completely Pride and Prejudice, with all the recognizable moments, but rife with Zombies and roundhouse kicks. I love it! (And I'm not that into zombies and all that they entail. But this book rocks!!!!)
The best moment came today, in the Pitt store, when I bought it. I had a discount book on top, and the clerk, a burly guy about our age, scanned it through. Then caught sight of P&P&Z.
"No way!" quoth he. I smiled. "They made a book like this?"
"Uh huh!" I answered intelligently.
"That is, that's just, wow." He scanned the book, then looked at me seriously.
"Okay, and I mean this in all seriousness: Do you have a zombie contingency plan?"
I didn't laugh, but managed a good smile and replied that, no, I did not, my house was not conducive for zombie avoidance.
"That's why you've got to have a plan!" We both kinda chuckled, and I admitted that, if it were vampires, I'd be all set becuase our house smells like garlic, which I think I only said because he was kinda cute and conversation was so ridiculous anyways. I got to leave the store laughing.
But srsly, this book rocks!
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains."
Elizabeth Bennett kicks Zombie undead butt!
