The Interwebs: Part Two

Feb 03, 2009 22:05

Remember how I wrote about the author sign-up sheet and the predatory librarians?  We outdid ourselves.  By 10:03, a full four minutes sooner than last time, more than 50 out of 80 LIS students had signed up for their topic reports.  I'm doing mine on Religious Values and Teens, and got mine in a 10:01.  A new record!

In other news, I didn't die in any of the riots in Oakland after the SuperBowl.  I was safely away in Shadyside and Squirrel Hill, where people cheered and waved terrible towels and danced in the Murray and Forbes intersection during pedestrian only crossing, but were otherwise civil.  In Oakland, however, there was graffiting, and fires, and two bus shelters by Forbes and Bigelow (right outside the Hillman library) were demolished.  There are pictures of the wreckage on my facebook page.  I went to a calm little party with about 10 people there, and lots of good food, and it was a really relaxing (except for the fourth quarter) time.  Yay.

However, thanks the Super Shaffe, I turned everything dirty in my mind.  Did you notice that Madden said "penetration" about four times calling one play?  I did.  Thanks, Shaffer.
