Taking a leaf out of
lilyofshalott's lj, I'm going to start recording my knitting data here. I just finished a "sample" scarf (actually, capelet rather because I ran out of yarn) trying out the same awesome fan and feather pattern I used on my sparkly green shawl. It looks really good with the huge needles (US 15's), so I'm going to go for a throw of that.
Yarn Type: Bernat Softee Chunky
Colors: 39110 (Dark Blue) and 39622 (True Yellow)... They were my high school colors, and they're just so bold and lovely, it's a shame not to make a throw of them. :)
92 stitches on US 15 (10mm) plastic needles. I left my circular needles at home, so it's all squashed up on straight needles.
The pattern is pretty simple.
Row one: knit
Row two: knit first stitch, purl to second to last stitch, knit last stitch
Row three: knit first stitch, k2togx3, *yo and kx6, k2togx6, repeat from * until last seven stitches, k2togx3, knit last stitch
Row four: knit
To keep the pattern straight, I strung four beads on the cast on tail. Clear- Row one. Yellow- Row two. Orange- Row three. Pink- Row four. I'm hooking a green paper clip to the bead that matches whatever row I did last. Hopefully this will help me keep track.
Starting with 39110, I've already done eight rows, ending on a pink bead. This is quite exciting...I hope it turns out nicely! Stay tuned for more updates.
