Hardback, trade paperback or mass market paperback?
Paperback anything if I can get it...rarely hardback except at book sales.
Barnes & Noble or Borders?
Either or. I prefer used bookstores, and there are Walden's closer to me than Barnes&Noble, so I guess Borders by virtue of their affiliation with Waldens.
Bookmark or dog-ear?
Dog Ear. It's sooooo bad....
Amazon or brick and mortar?
Definitely Brick and Mortar. I want to feel the book in my hand before I buy it.
Alphabetize by author or alphabetize by title or random?
In my own collection, I section it by subject (fantasy, mystery, etc.) then by author in clumps. So, all the Voigts and Pratchetts are together, and then the rest are in there as I see fit.
Keep, throw away, or sell?
More likely to keep unless I forcibly hand them over to Mom to sell for credit at a used bookstore, which just perpetuates the cycle.
Keep dust jacket or toss it?
Keep it, but put it away when reading. It just gets in the way.
Read with dust jacket or remove it?
Remove it
Short story or novel?
Depends on the mood... Usually novel, but sometimes short stories, or even novellas.
Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket?
Harry Potter! I made it to book five of Snicket before I began to get cross.
Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
When I'm tired, but I try to read to some sort of break.
"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"?
"Once upon a time"
Buy or borrow?
Since I started at the library, more of the latter. But, I still participate in a healthy amount of the former.
New or used?
Used. I am a used book fiend, unless I can't find what I'm desperately seeking.
Buying choice: book reviews, recommendations, or browse?
Browse.
Tidy ending or cliffhanger?
Tidy ending. PLEASE!
Morning reading, afternoon reading, or nighttime reading?
Whenever I feel like it
Stand-alone or series?
Stand-alone, although if the series is quite good, I'll stick with it.
Favorite series?
The Discworld Series, by Terry Pratchett, or His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman. Eh, for good measure, throw in The Belgaraid and the Mallorean by David Eddings, The Phule books and the Myth series by Robert Aspirin, The Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer, and Harry Potter.
Favorite children's book?
Huh...like I could choose. I'm still a kid at heart.

What are you reading next?
Soon, I'm going to start on The Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman.
Favorite book to recommend to an eleven-year-old?
Depends....for a boy, Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. For a girl, Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. For both, The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper
