Worldcon, day four

Aug 09, 2008 20:54

Another day, another several good panels. The highlight was Bujold reading the first two chapters from her new Miles book. (She's only up to chapter four, she doesn't know when she'll finish or when it will be published. But I wanna read it *now*! [whiiiiine])

The highlight of the day, however, was going by the art show shortly before close of bidding to discover that I'd sold three of my animals, the demon teddy, the nauga, and the striped tribble. I promptly turned around and spent the money I (will have) made on a beautiful wooden box I'd been pining over in the dealers' room.

I'm now back in my room, resting. I'm going to make it an early night, because I'm exhausted, and tomorrow is another big day. There's a couple of interesting-sounding panels in the morning and early afternoon. The con then ends by mid-afternoon, and I don't head to the airport until after 9:00, so I'll have about six hours to kill. I was thinking about the zoo or aquarium, but they both sound like too much walking at this point, so I'm not sure. The con-suite will be open until 10:00, so I could just hang out there with a book or three. We'll see.

Then I take the red-eye back home. And sleep the clock around.
