This mix and match sh*t don't work.

Bleh, what a week. Lots of ups and downs. It all started on Monday - my brother and are getting iPod Nanos (I'm giving the Shuffle I already own to my parents and paying $60) so Dad ordered those from...somewhere. Then, on Tuesday, I started having breathing problems! What fun! [/sarcasm] I went up to the emergency room, where I was told that it was probably nothing, and to be given a puff of asthma medicine if I was having trouble. I was relieved, for a while there, I thought I was going to die. I was freaked out and crying, despite the comfort of AFI's The Interview. Wednesday was the first day of a new school year, so we got new diaries and timetables. My IT teacher gave us homework due to the next day, which was NOT fun, and I tried out for the Softball Squad in sport in the afternoon. I didn't get in, but I didn't want to. On Thursday, I was fine right up until History, when my breathing problem returned! Frightened again, I went to the sick bay and Dad picked me up from school. I was dosed with the asthma medicine again and, since I had no immediate homework, I took the opportunity to finish off my Squoosh plushie (I'll post pictures when I find the time to learn how to use the digital camera and post said pictures on LJ). For those who don't know who Squoosh is, go to Youtube. Type 'Girl's Not Grey' in the Search box. Click the first option and watch it. Squoosh is the blue creature.

Anyway, I wanted to take Squoosh into school and carry him around with me because he was such a comfort, but Dad wouldn't let me. I guess that, at fifteen, I'm a little too old to be walking around carrying a stuffed toy. Even one I made myself. I don't think he had to put it as 'you have to start living in the real world', though. So, instead I made myself a little stuffed ball of the same material that Squoosh is made of, and that sustained me through the first four periods. Then, Dad picked me up to take me to my doctor. Apparently, this little problem of mine is caused by adrenalin, the 'fight or flight' hormone. He suggested that I learn meditation, and just general ways to calm myself so that I'm not panicking every time my throat tightens a little. So, that's my path from now on. Also, exercise burns adrenalin, so I'm going to be walking/jogging more often. I swam backstroke in the House Swimming Trials, but unfortunately missed the freestyle, which is my best stroke.

Anyway, I discovered that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is being released later this year (which was alone enough to get my completely high off my fangirl excitement/anticipation) but I have, today, also discovered that Seeing Redd, the second book in The Looking Glass Wars Trilogy, is being released in October!! If you haven't read The Looking Glass Wars (Frank Beddor), I compel you to go do so, because it kicks serious booty. So I'm totally stoked for those two releases. Well, it's nice to end the week on a good note rather than a bad... but I could have lived without the constant up-and-downing.

Looking at you from beyond the mirror,
