Right, so I just finished watching the animated Dragonlance movie, and I have to say that that was the worst ten-dollar movie I've ever seen in my life. Don't get me wrong, it was lulzy, but only because it was so damn bad. Whose bright idea was it to CGI-animate the dragons and the draconians and leave everyone else as cartoons? It just didn't work.
I have to say that Tanis and Goldmoon were the ones that drove me insane. If I had a nickel for every time that Tanis said "We have no choice!" or "The Gods of Light have returned!"... You could make a drinking game out of it, except that you'd be dead in half an hour.
Best parts were Raistlin and Tasslehoff.
Tasslehoff: Say, she healed him without using those funny words! How come you can't do that, all-powerful mage?
Raistlin: She's channelling the power of a god, you dolt. I am wrestling arcane energy from the very fabric of the universe. It's completely different.
I laughed so hard.
I think they missed out a lot of the best bits, though. Especially with Bupu and Fizban. Why did they cut the lulz with the fireball and the lock. That was quite possibly the best part of the book.
Also: HOLY SHIT, PHIL LAMARR DID THE VOICE OF RIVERWIND.
I think I should reread the books.
