I really am running out of things to write about, mostly due to the fact that I'm currently having to drastically rearrange most of what I thought I knew about Deepground. (Which puts Tangled Webs on the backburner again until I can resolidify my backstories.) So, in the interests of breaking up my whining about school, I'm going to address
a theory that I stumbled across in the Deepground synopsis thread; namely, that Weiss and Nero are twins. Do I believe it?
The short answer: No.
The long answer: I admit, it threw me for a second, and I think for a few confused moments I did wonder whether it really was possible. After all, we're never given Weiss's age (at least that I know of, yet, and Mo, if you've been withholding this information for us, I'll be most unhappy with you), and the fact that Weiss looks older than his brother can be explained away (as most 'judging age by appearence' things can be). We know that their mother died during Nero's birth, but that on its own doesn't necessarily preclude the brothers being twins; it just means that Weiss would be the older, dominant twin.
Then I remembered why, exactly, Harmaa/Julia/Patricia/whatever you want to call her died giving birth to Nero in the first place, and nearly facepalmed.
The main reason that Weiss and Nero cannot possibly be twins is because if they were, Weiss would also have stagnant mako powers. I'd offer the fact that Hojo began shrieking about tainting Omega's host when Nero threatened to merge with his brother as proof of this, but I have a feeling that this was to do with the fact that Nero probably had J-cells as well -- wait.
Brief tangent: If all Deepground SOLDIERs, most Tsviets included, had J-cells like normal SOLDIERs... Were they unaffected by Geostigma when it was going around, and if they were affected, how did they cure it? WTF, Square.
Anyway, back to what I was saying. It seems more likely that Nero had J-cells like most SOLDIERs and that was why Hojo was wailing about the purity of Omega's host instead of, as I had previously thought, denouncing Nero because of his darkness. That being said, somehow I doubt that it would have been possible for Weiss to house Omega if he had been touched/tainted by stagnant mako, which is the...birthplace, I suppose...of Chaos. That's my justification, anyway.
