PENLTC.

Beeb's PENLTC has a name: colitis. Due to the length of time it's been going on it is by definition chronic colitis, which I fear may be....lifelong.

She's in a flare right now - unfortunately there was noticeable bright red blood on her stool this morning - and has been given a low fat high fibre diet. She does not seem particularly keen on this, so I will have to give her another hour to get hungry and then try again. However, the vet was extremely pleased with her general appearance and the fact her diarrhoea has stopped.

ETA: Beeb's hunger strike lasted precisely 70 minutes. The new food is clearly not a favourite, but as I suspected, she is not the kind of cat who will sacrifice her meals for her principles. I will have to give it to her in several small amounts today and perhaps not put dry down till later.

Well, okay, I have a cat that will probably need a certain amount of extra care and cost for the next...well I hope she lives to twenty! She pays me back with the pleasure of her huge personality, affection and creative vocalizations. If she ever gets really bad there are drugs that help with colitis but they all have highly unpleasant side effects so whilst she's well in herself we won't use them.

This week I cut my hair - off. I've had long hair since I was a little kid, and it's very thick and curly, but it's gotten slightly less curly as I've gotten over and it's pretty hard to manage so I said to hell with it and my housemate cut it off. I like it. It's easy to manage in any case.

I'm looking forward to watching the new SPN today. I didn't get to see it last night cos I was still working, and now the house is state so I have to do something about that...BUT....this afternoon I am watching it for sure.
