Welcome to reading_gibbon, a community for reading Edward Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire over a period of nine months. For now, membership is completely open. As things develop we will see if more restrictive policies are needed, but I hope that won't be the case. It should go without saying, but I expect all discussion to be respectful and polite

My own experience is also in having a Latin O-level, and in finding "The Funky Gibbon" not very funny. I will make an effort to keep up with the schedule
