Weekend Update

The virology retreat was better than expected, after all. We were late getting up there, but arrived just in time to make the keynote talk Friday night. I now know all about brewing beer, which I should have known, but didn't. Anyway, I'm all versed in malt and wort and fermentation now. Pretty cool stuff. My talk went okay...got some good comments and feedback. And my student won first prize in the grad student poster competition! I'm very proud of her, because she really got grilled by people and I'm proud of me for laying off and just letting her do it.

Rain overnight means snow in the high country...its just beautiful up there (at least what I can see from my 9th floor window). I'm ready for winter!
