My Merlin Fandom Essentials
Inspired by this post by the always delightful cherrybina, I have undertook the oh, so not unpleasant task of pondering the many Merlin fics, videos, and picspams that reaffirm my love for the Merlin fandom. These are the top five things that hooked me in the first place and keep me hooked.
1) Bradley, Lost in Abergavenny. This is what turned Mr. Bradley James from just another pretty actor into a real person I couldn't help but adore. It also led me to seek out all the other video diaries.
2) In Time of Trial by shinetheway - Beautiful, epic story that I would still love (and think it would still work quite well) if it was gen. The Merlin/Arthur is just a bonus. Arthur exemplifies everything I love about him as his vulnerability and strength are both at full force.
3) The Student Prince by pandarus - Amazing modern Merlin/Arthur au. They are both very much in character meaning that at times you want to snuggle them while at other times you want to hit them over the head with a sword. Plus Arthur's speech made me cry.
4) Favorite by astolat - So very, very hot with a fabulous ending. This Merlin/Arthur gets repeated reading.
5) If We Sleep Together (Will You Be My Friend Forever) by chibirhm and its sequel Love Made Visible - Fabulous Bradley/Colin that I have reread many times. A bit sad. A bit joyous. Completely wonderful.
