mine is a D40 also :)
I got some money for christmas, so I put it towards the camera. I am happy I did.

yayyyy, d40s! i love it more than i probably should love a gift i gave to someone else. we have a lot of pointless pictures of our cats and water glasses and each other now. jason's real cute about it, he sits on the futon poring over the instruction manual and tinkering with all the details.

i haven't even read the manual at all, i keep meaning to! mine came with dvds about how to be a great digital photographer as well, lol.

ha, i got those two. well, we only got one cause they were out of the other. kind of funny. j's dad is a photographer as well and the two of them talking over dinner last night about aperture this and exposure that and 200mm zoom, omg! was hilarious. i am fairly clueless about technical photography, i just like taking pictures.
