I used a different link to my file this time, so hopefully you'll be able to download it for the collection. If not, let me know and I'll send you the file.
I'm afraid I need a different link, as with a non-paid tindeck, there is no mp3 file for download available, only the embedded players. I couldn't figure this out at first because I forgot I was still logged in in the RLA tindeck, and it looked as if your file was on this profile (which also puzzled me ;o) ). Sorry for the inconvenience!
It is confusing. When I uploaded my file this time, I chose the "allow downloads" option, which looked different in my post than the "embedded" option, so I thought sure you'd be able to download it, but if you can only do that with a paid account, that solves the mystery.
I see you change the file names when you add them to the account, adding the reader's names and the part numbers, so it's probably easier if you do the uploading yourself. I'll e-mail you the file I've already posted, then do the same once I've posted the second.
ETA: At first I had trouble logging in to your Tindeck account, but after a last try I was finally able to get in, so I've uploaded the file myself. If I've done it differently than your usual, please feel free to fix it.
That worked fine! *\O/* I just changed the track info slightly; I deleted the "read_lotr_aloud" since the whole account is "read lotr aloud", and put in your username as artist's name. I haven't found out yet if ain individual tag system exists, but I hope like this it might eventually be possible to search for readers if necessary. The site is confusing and has no manual as far as I can find out.
You'll find the embed codes for your reading entry when you clikc the green link "get embed/link code". If you want to include a link for a direct mp3 download, you'll need to use the code in "Direct File Hotlink". Otherwise choose which kind you prefer. The "embedded player" allows the listeners to stay on your LJ entry while listening without another tab opening.
I guess I'm still confused because I renamed my file in the format you're using at your Tindeck before uploading it. I included my reader name so I don't understand why it showed "read_lotr_aloud" instead of ink_gypsy, but as long as you can change it after I upload, I'll upload my second file the same way.
Hm, that is interesting. Perhaps the software filled that out itself because it is the account's name? It was my fault not remembering that the info needed to be split between artist and author. The "ink-gypsy" was there, just the "read...aloud" before it. As far as I know it's easily possible editing the name of the file afterwards, so it's no problem.
Grmpf, each time I'm using this I think I have it figured out, and then it comes with a new surprise. ;)
