Sorry for my belated reply; I was caught up in meeting a fic deadliny and pressing RL stuff.

Yes, you have the last section. I just tried the file, it sounds lovely, I really like your accent. :o) I'll keep the complete listening to when the whole chapter is up so I can hear them all in order.

I'm also sorry I didn't find time yet to let you know how to post your reading.

Your reading/sound file should be in an entry to your own journal, and it should contain the chapter and title as well as the sound file, the latter as a link or with an embedded player like yours. A link back to the community is much appreciated, and you also can paste the text of your reading in for your listener's comfort, but that is optional. Then you post here the link to your entry, which I collect for the chapter entry.

My own readings look like this (it's an older one with the box embedding still working), after vaysh's model.

The complete chapter list will look like this. You can look through the other reader's entries to see how they're doing it ( ... )

What if I prefer not to post it to my own journal? This all seems unnecessarily complicated

Let me ask your second question first. I'm in this community only since last year and don't know about the original decisions, but there are several reasons to my knowledge.

For one, this community isn't your typical podfic community/collection, and has always operated under different presets and with different goals, and over time things have developed in their own way and enjoyed in this way by the readers and listeners. Things might not all be practical or sound more complicated if one is used to doing things differently, but they have worked well for many years, so there is no real reason to change it.

dreamflower02 and I have taken over the community only a couple of months ago, and while we are changing some things out of necessity because technical premises and possibilities have changed, and others to keep track with the way the fandom changes, we don't want to change too much at once to not lose the spirit of the community ( ... )

OK. I had the impression that you collected the recordings to produce a complete-chapter-file sort of thing so thought the main thing was that you had access to the recordings.

I prefer not to post unlocked to my LJ. I have a dreamwidth account I can post it to unlocked though, it that's acceptable

I would suggest that you do that for the time being. If we're creating something else, you can transfer your reading there later, if you like to. Is anonymous commenting possible on your DW, so also those not on DW can leave feedback?

I think it was mainly because of the voice posting and being able to customise the posts to your own preferences was a side effect.

Ha well I actually joined after it had been running for a few months so I'm not sure. But most people used the voice posts.
