Chapter 36 The Flaw in the Planannalisa_ljSeptember 3 2007, 21:14:31 UTC
1) Back to the forest and the Death Eaters aren’t cheering Harry’s death. Something has happened to Voldemort. Harry takes a quick peek and surmises that both he and Voldemort fell briefly unconscious and then returned. So what did Voldemort experience while he was unconscious? Was he the child in that place with Harry? Did he see the child and know that was what he would become without remorse? Was he given a choice? No real answers to these questions, but I wondered.
2) Bellatrix speaks to Voldemort as to a lover. Umpteenth reference to this and I say it again - that gal is sick. Her love seems largely unrequited too. I mean she does enjoy some degree of favor, but Voldemort treats her like dirt just like everyone else. Here we see him speaking coldly to her and refusing her help. Whatever happened to her husband? If he appeared in this book, I’ve forgotten that detail.
3) Voldemort is not completely confident that Harry is dead. He doesn’t usually get knocked unconscious when he kills someone. He sends someone

I thought that maybe Harry didn't feel pain from the Cruciatus curse because Voldemort was using the Elder Wand which Harry was actually the master of? Maybe that's just wishful thinking and it doesn't explain the dementor thing.

4) I was shocked too! And it was the perfect way. Voldemort once again was ruined by love. Why on EARTH would he send Narcissa to check on Harry, if he could at least think that maybe the love of her family was more important.
Also? I can just imagine how this scene could play out on film. Beautiful. Honestly, Narcissa is the whole reason Harry succeeded in defeating Voldemort in the end.
