Title: Getting the Big Catch

Summary: Sungmin's on board a cruise ship with only one goal in mind. Unfortunately, someone else on board has other plans with him in mind.

Sungmin fixed his suit and tie. He quietly shut the door behind him and headed up towards the Promenade, where most of the activity was. People were moving around the ship, exploring the different shops and activities available. A few were already out lounging by the pool. Many of the cruise ship members were busy directing people and preparing the ship to take off.
Sungmin moved past luggage carts and headed towards the bow of the ship. He noted the layout of the ship, just making sure it was as he had memorized. A small smile flitted across his lips as all was in order. He chose a lounger away from the rest of the vacationers and sat down to enjoy the last few rays of the sun.
“Well don’t you look out of place?”
Sungmin opened his eyes to see a young man dressed casually in a t-shirt and shorts looking at him with amusement. With a quirk of his brow, he looked the man up and down before closing his eyes again.
The man chuckled and took a seat on the lounger next to his. “So what’s a person like you doing on a cruise ship?”
“Like everyone else. Taking a vacation. Now if you’ll excuse me.” Sungmin got up. “I find the current surroundings unpleasant.”
The man chuckled. “You’re feisty for a suit. But alright, I’ll probably see you around. It is a small ship.”
Sungmin rolled his eyes and headed back towards his cabin. As always, his eyes scanned around, making note of important details.
Sungmin checked his reflection before leaving his cabin. His hair was slicked back, not a hair out of place. His suit was pressed straight, no wrinkles in sight. He smiled at his reflection and gave a quiet chuckle before leaving. He headed towards the dining room where many people were already seated and enjoying the delicious food. He smiled at his tablemates. It froze when he came upon a familiar figure grinning back at him.
He continued his greetings before waiting for the food to arrive. Someone slipped into the seat next to him. Sungmin turned his head to smile but froze seeing that man there.
“Hello, I know we haven’t been properly introduced. My name is Cho Kyuhyun and you are?”
“Lee Sungmin. Now if you don’t mind, I like to eat in peace.” Sungmin turned his head away, looking towards his waiting plate.
“Well, well, well, definitely feisty. I like.” Kyuhyun chuckled and ate his meal in silence next to Sungmin.
Sungmin did his best to ignore the man next to him. He worked smoothly as always, not allowing any distractions. As he finished his meal, Sungmin fingered the items in his pocket: 2 rings, a pair of earrings, and 3 bracelets.
Each day, Sungmin took a leisurely stroll around the ship, taking in the bright sunlight or enjoying the cool water of the pool. A few times he ventured to the little casino area to try his luck. He didn’t do too badly and whatever losses he had, he made up for with his petty thefts.
Sungmin checked his bags daily and nightly to make sure all the valuables were safe and accounted for. The ship would land in port in a couple days. He couldn’t afford to lose anything when he was so close to finishing the job.
The only sore point in this job was the almost constant presence of Cho Kyuhyun. Almost everywhere he turned, he would find the other man smiling at him. It was disconcerting.
“Well hello there.” Sungmin turned to find Kyuhyun beaming at him. “And what are your plans for this evening?”
“A relaxing evening alone, taking in the nice sea air before it’s back to the city grind.”
“Ah, excellent. May I join you?” Kyuhyun took the open seat beside Sungmin. He stretched out on the recliner, hands behind his head, as he looked at Sungmin with a grin.
Sungmin sat up to move away but found his wrist caught in a strong grip.
“Stay. Keep me company on this lovely evening.” There was a glint in Kyuhyun’s eye. “Stop running away from this…from me.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Kyuhyun leaned close, mouth right by Sungmin’s ear. “I know who you are.”
Sungmin kept his face neutral as Kyuhyun smirked at him.
“Well…I guess I’ll leave you to your own company.” Kyuhyun patted Sungmin’s thigh and left.
Sungmin checked his cabin one last time before grabbing his bag and heading to the upper deck where everyone would descend. He kept a tight grip on his bag as he moved down the plank.
“Here, let me help you with that.” Sungmin found his hand caught in Kyuhyun’s grip. “Right this way.”
Kyuhyun gave a pleasant smile as he led Sungmin towards his waiting car. Sungmin slipped into the back seat, followed by Kyuhyun.
Kyuhyun grabbed Sungmin’s bag and opened it, ignoring Sungmin’s protest. “My, my, my, what lovely jewels you have.”
Kyuhyun pulled out Sungmin’s entire stash of jewels he had taken during the trip. They covered the bottom of the car.
“Well, what are you going to do with this? Sell it for cash?” Kyuhyun looked at Sungmin with a knowing look.
Sungmin shrugged his shoulders. “Whatever. So since you know my secret, what are you going to do about it?”
“Nothing,” Kyuhyun leaned in close, face a breath away from Sungmin’s, “except maybe join you.”
“What?” Sungmin’s mouth fell open as he stared at Kyuhyun.
“Yeah, I’m just like you but with more finesse.” Kyuhyun smiled as his arm came around the back of the seat, his hand coming up to stroke Sungmin’s hair. “I came aboard that ship with the same plan but found you instead. I think I ended up with the bigger catch.”
Kyuhyun winked, smile stretching across his face.
“And why should I team up with you?”
Kyuhyun smirked. “I was hoping you’d ask that.”
Kyuhyun came in close, invading Sungmin’s personal space. “It’ll be my pleasure to show you why.”
His lips came down on Sungmin’s, stealing his breath away and maybe a bit of his sanity as Sungmin felt himself caving to Kyuhyun’s request. It was going to be interesting pulling off thefts with a partner but Sungmin had no doubt they’d work well together if Kyuhyun’s kissing skills were any indication.
