I am pretty much having a heart attack from sheer amusement. Thursday afternoons after getting out early from my Biology lab seems to be my time for meeting interesting foreign men: last week it was Ferdinand and we talked research/family until he got a phone call and I had to get off at my stop, and today it was an aspiring musician that lived in Egypt and in Switzerland for a while. He sat down next to me and immediately started talking to me. I got the feeling he was hitting on me - I was right. I think he tried asking me out to a movie at some point, but I changed the topic to a movie I hadn't seen and danced around the question rather suavely, I think.
Ahhh, but I can't stop giggling. He kept on telling me that he could tell that I'm a free heart - and he told me he is a gypsy! A match made in heaven for a random encounter. We talked about American culture and other countries, and I tried to ignore his obvious coming on to me as much as I could until I could finally smoothly mention Edwin into the conversation. He said that Eej is a "very lucky man", etc, etc. He still kept on talking to me. We ended up having the same stop and he invited me over to his place sometime to drink some wine and listen to some music, and then asked "But wouldn't your boyfriend be jealous?" I told him we were both very secure in our relationship and that I wasn't worried. And then he said, "By the way, I find you very attractive!" Oh God, how it took every ounce of effort for me not to break out into a giggle fit. I was giddy the whole way home.
Anyway, he told me to check out his MySpace and I think that's the thing sending me over the edge right now. With lyrics like "Close your eyes, because it's time... I want your body there... pure seduction" it's easy to see that my assistance may have been needed for some new musical inspiration. Check out
his myspace.
Oh well... it was a nice ego boost? I pretty much never, ever, ever get hit on, and I'm pretty sure that had any of my other friends been with me it would have been them and not me, and then I could tease them about it. Instead I just get to laugh at myself. It's moments like this that I'm so happy for every second spent with EJ, for having met him, that I don't think I could put it in words. Like I told Torrey: my family is good at finding mates, and I am positive I have found mine. Thank gooooodnesss for not having to put up with this kind of bullshit. I mean, don't get me wrong, he was nice. But I can't help but wonder if half of what he said was a typical musician's pick-up line, especially since he emphasized playing in Vegas to promote his new album in 2010.
Whatever! The light rail is always an adventure. I gave a huge beetle a ride home the other day - as in, he got on my bag and refused to come off, so I just brought him along for the trip relying that he knew what he was doing. After the [50 minute] ride I tried to get him to crawl onto a Mesquite tree in the parking lot and he refused. When I finally made it to my car he flew away.
And those are my two cute stories for the day. Pointless, not really cute, but there.
P.S. Edwin's dentist appointment went really well yesterday. He ended up not needing a root canal, but just a filling (and eventually a crown). He had a wisdom tooth pulled, which turned out to be the source of his pain. He needs a lot more dental work, but for now this should be fine. I'm just super happy he's okay.
Edit: LMFAO SJKDHFKJSHDFKJDHF. He just sent me a text with "It was very nice 2 talk 2 u u r very beautiful lady call me if u want" bwahahahaha. SOMEONE PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY.
