The Beauty erotica series from Anne Rice was probably the most intense thing I've read in a long time, and she seriously hit EVERYTHING in those books. It's taken me two years to get around to reading the third/final book in the series, but I finished tonight. It's insane, the things she puts her characters through. I couldn't help but love every second of it and hold my breath as I anxiously waited to find out what happened next. I thought the ending was a little predictable, but it wrapped up everything nicely and left me feeling pretty satisfied with the overall series.
I'm also amused that Edwin is reading the third book now, which started when I had been laughing at some extreme sentence (having forgotten her style/the tortures) and then again later at this line: "We swam, each at his or her own pace, in the dazzling current of erotic torment." Pretty soon he was gobbling up the book, and then when he didn't have a book with him while my car was getting fixed up... let me tell you, nothing is more amusing and more oddly romantic than reading hardcore erotica with your love and making fun of it/making terrible references to it later.
The rest of my class yesterday went by a little bit better. I ended up coming back from break twenty minutes late (oops) because I was talking to this girl from my German class, and we inevitably were making fun of the class/teacher and trying to figure out what is on our exam next Wednesday. My art professor didn't say anything, though. I don't think she even cares, the class is that extremely relaxed. Our model was my favorite one, this slightly built younger guy with a shaved head. He looks extremely elegant when he models... just, in some way I can't describe. I have so much respect for our models. If I could only capture even part of what I see when I look at them, I would post some of my pictures.
I'm not looking forward to having to get up soon, but I am looking forward to being able to hang out with Danny, and then Kathryn later in the night to catch up and get some writing/work done. And also to give her these two Dr. Who magazines I found at Bookmans! I had no idea there were even magazines? I think I died a little inside. But they look pretty awesome, and I'll have to look at them again before I give them to her because I think there was a bit on prosthetics in there that I realllly want to check out.
Sleep time? Maybe.
... Probably not.
