I have never met a dog with mightier bowels than Joe.

I've been house-sitting for Nathan since Tuesday. The dogs go inside and outside as they please through the doggy door, but they still tend to go to the bathroom on the floor. Nathan blames this on his mom for not properly training them. Before they left for New Jersey/New York Nathan warned me that Joe has the tendency to explode.

Joe exploded today.

I walk in the house after work today and it smells terrible. There was poop all over the tile floors, from the kitchen, to the living room, the hallway, and all the way into the laundry room. He even got it on the wall. How is that even possible? I am both amazed and completely disgusted. So I mopped up the floor and gave him a bath. The water turned brown and stayed that color for a solid five minutes or more as I washed him, and then I had to shampoo him three times to get 98% of it out of his fur. I thought I had everything out after sitting on the bathroom floor and rinsing him off in the shower for over an hour, but I guess not. The last little pieces I had to cut out of his fur, since he has such a long coat. I secretly trimmed his hair, especially out of his face so he could see a little better.

After I gave him a bath I mopped the floor some more. Nathan called me while I was at work, so I gave him a ring back. His mom completely abandoned him in New York. They spent the day together there and towards the end she wanted to go to Macy's, and he really wanted to go to the library. So he suggested that he walk her to Macy's and while she shopped he could go to the library, and then when she was done she could call him on his cell and they could continue onwards together. Except, she freaked out and screamed that he ruined her vacation because of this, and then she abandoned him somewhere in Manhattan. He had to take a bus back to New Jersey to the hotel where they are staying. I was really worried about him, but I guess he had a fantastic time on his own. He found some chess store where people sit outside and play chess all day, and after walking all over the city he stopped there and played a round with a complete stranger. Man, I miss the East Coast. On a different note, Nathan is still 17. I told him that he should call child services on his mom and get her busted for doing something so fucked up as abandoning him in a huge city (even if he's more than capable of taking care or himself). Alas, Nathan is not nearly as mean-spirited as I.

After that I called Jordan and whined to her for a bit because I was really tired and cranky and felt overwhelmed from Joe exploding all over the house and still having a lot to clean/do. I told her I wanted to take a nap since I had slept less than an hour last night and she offered to call me whenever, so I totally passed out for half an hour. Thanks again, Jordan! ♥ You have no idea how much that saved me. I wasn't even cranky when I woke up, and I got done with everything else at lightening speed.

Anyway... last night I stayed out all night with Jordan, Adrienne, Danielle, Christian, Inez, and Travis. It was so much fun! All we really did was talk and goof off, and get blazed. It's impressive how much pot Danielle has/smokes. It was also really good to see Inez again, since the last time we really hung out was Halloween my Freshman year of high school. So much happened to the both of us over these last few years, I hardly know what to write about this. I think I'll just leave it at "last night was one incredible reunion."

Otherwise? I picked Ivory up from the vet at 11:30 in the morning. He's doing just fine and is overly playful, as if nothing even happened. He was so happy to see me when I picked him up, and he pressed his little paw against my hand as he stared straight into my eyes. I feel so much like he's a person sometimes, the way he acts. I'll cradle him in my arms and he'll press his paw gently against my cheek or chin and he won't break eye-contact while doing this. Then he usually gives me Eskimo kisses. It's just something about the way he looks at me, I guess... That probably sounds silly, but I mean it.

Side-Note 1: I am actually really considering going out with this one mega cute guy from Tempe. Actually, I am pretty sure we are going to date, or at least go on a date pretty soon. I'm really nervous and excited about it, and I'm debating whether I should see if he wants to hook up before I leave for Portland, or after I come back. It doesn't help that he's really charming and really nice. It also doesn't help that the first thing he asked me today was how my kitten is doing. Or that he messaged me this morning to say he was thinking about me.

I don't normally write about relationship things in my journal but... That's him. X3

Side-Note 2: Erika messaged me not too long ago that her mom's friend from work, and her brother and a friend went for a walk in this wooded area when they heard a loud noise. The two guys went to investigate and freaked out. There was a spider the size of a basketball or slight larger in the grass. What the fuck? Why don't I get to see mutated gigantic arachnids?! She told me they took pictures of this beast... oh man, Erika... the second you and your mom get a hold of them pleeeaaaaaase send them this way! That is so crazy it really makes me want to up and go to ND to take pictures, too.
