[Complete!] Freaky Friday! (Well, if it were even a Friday.)

Aug 08, 2010 18:56

Characters: Kukai Souma (as Aden Laimitt) and Nida Laimitt
Setting: Nida's House
Time: July 1st, Morning
Summary: All is not well in the Laimitt household. For one thing? ... Kukai never wanted to be a member of the chess team. As if the bodyswitching thing wasn't bad enough! (And as usual, Nida gets passed over. again.)
Warnings: Just two teenagers being derps! That, and Kukai may or may not have the drama ball in his hands.

When Kukai arrived in Haven, life had been a party. Go hunt for shards? Sure, he'd do it! ... Right after he finished eating at this new restaurant. Go defeat monsters? Maybe after this new video game. Honestly, the most difficult part had been trying to make sense of his new life.

So much for that now. So much for "trying to find God." So much for... well, all that hard work he'd been doing for the past three months. The moment Kukai woke up and stared at the mirror, he couldn't help gaping.

It was like he was stuck in a bad movie! What was it called? Freaky Thursday or something? This so wasn't his body. He would've remembered these awkward limbs! And the closet full of similarly awkward things! He finally shook his head and again stared at his hands. They were bigger. Softer.

... There was also a considerable lack of a tan. Kukai groaned. This guy didn't spend much time outside, did he? (Or maybe he did and was just smart enough to use sunscreen. Who knew, really?)

"Daichi?" Kukai called softly, hoping - in vain - that his guardian character would've followed. "Hey! DAICHI!"

He had no response. Kukai wanted to sob, to cry.... what kind of sick, cruel joke was this? Not much could shatter that cheer, but this? Definitely penetrated and shattered most of his hopes. This wasn't a game anymore.

Maybe, if he weren't so down in the dumps, Kukai could've noticed that this guy - this new body - slightly resembled someone he knew. As it was, Kukai felt like disappearing under the covers. So, without hesitation, Kukai crawled back into bed. Another morning... another cruel joke. Life just wasn't fair.
