Hot air. )
Then he woke up, far too wobbly on his legs, on a bed that wasn't his. And caught sight of his reflection in the mirror. He was a fricking old man! How? Why him? The fuck? He started to freak out, trying to make sense of the whole situation. Great just great, he was stuck as an old man and was on the verge of giving himself a heart attack. He made his way back to the bed to steady himself. Calming breaths, deep calming breaths. That's all that he could think of instantly, medical training flying into his head. He needed to keep calm, and not freak out, which was proving really, really hard. Distract himself somehow, or find out what happened.
"Oi, I know you don't like the air on, but you' ( ... )

"Still in bed? That's not like you." Neither was the casualness of his tone, either, but that had registered only faintly in the back of her mind.

"Are you the family? Of this guy I mean?" He choked out as he made a weak gesture at his body to gesture what he was talking about. This was probably a stupid move, but Adam couldn't think of anything else. He was confused, and didn't know what to do. He wanted out of this body. Before he ended up accidentally damaging it. Right now. He'd been on the other side of this fence. He knew what it felt like. The poor old man he was possessing probably also wanted him out right away.

"All right, who are you?" The words were bit out, the syllables snapped between her teeth. "You've got five seconds."

Passing by the door: "Aren't you people supposed to land in the equivalent of your own bodies?"

"I did! I was in this places' version of my body. Until today morning," he called out to her, hoping she'd hear. Adam placed his head in his hands. No, not his, he reminded himself, but this woman's grandfather. Oh good God, his nausea was rising again, and now anger too. Fucking angels! They sent him here. they were behind this. They always got their jollies out of doing things like this to people like him, and this woman.
His chest started feeling funny again and Adam started breathing deeply to try and quell his anger. It would get him nowhere in this situation. And he couldn't risk hurting this man while he was stuck in his body.
"Look I'm sorry. But I don't know what's happening here."

It was hard to keep calm, to not let his voice rise with each word. To just not panic. He looked around trying to regain his calm again. He hadn't realised how tightly he was clutching the sheets on the bed till then. His knuckles were white.

The other part which was still stuck on the fact that she honed in on the "sweetheart" bit, made him just stare at her incredulously. "Nice to know that when someone tries to explain something to you, you focus on the more irrelevant stuff," he said dryly.

He moved to run a hand through his hair, at least whatever was left of the old man's hair anyway, sighing. "Look my bad, I shouldn't have done that. Thing is I'm stuck, I don't know why or how. I want out of it. I'm positive your grandfather feels the same."

A breath as she turned away. "I know someone. One of your kind. I'll call him."

His eyes lit up at the prospect of getting out of this body. "Thanks. A lot."

Occasionally, and only in the aftermath when everything was said and done, she regretted that -- even if she didn't apologize. This man was still a stranger, foreign to her, in a place where she was used to being able to let her guard down, using a power that struck deep into her core.
Head dipping in a nod, she vanished out of the room again to make a post to the network.
