- Went to see PLAY on Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm. I liked it a lot but I was disappointed that they only utilized the three screens at the top for certain games. Ironically the ones they did play had either composers in the audience or the games were made by Nintendo or Microsoft. How convenient. Though the rendition of "One Winged Angel" was really good if you exclude the choir parts. The singers seemed really bored with it which as most of you know it's far from boring. Ah well.
- After the concert, Fuyu and I met up with Michelle & Laura for some dinner at Johnny Rocket's. Food was good but they charged way too much for their shakes. Ah well. Since we still had some 4 hours to waste before the Amazon party, we looked at Barnes & Noble and EB Games. I got a few magazines with Tobi (Avantasia) and Brian (Queen) in B&N. In Eb Games I grabbed God of War and Destroy All Humans for the PS2. I've heard of both games so I figured wasting $10-12 per game wasn't too bad.
- The Amazon party started at 8:00pm at EMP. After checking our coats and getting a wrist band, we headed up to the practice rooms for some jamming. Fuyu snagged a bass and I grabbed a guitar while Laura played the drums. It was a pretty cool. We also got a chance to try out the sound proof rooms to play on a full drums set. I'm still a crappy drummer but at least I was having fun annoying my friends ;)
- Presidents of the United States of America were as good I was remembered them. I saw them back in 1997 at Paramount eons ago and they haven't changed much. Well, the bald guitarist is gone and replaced by this young guy but he did a fine job. The singer Chris kept egging Jeff Bezos (Amazon's founder) to come downstairs and stage dive. He never did, of course, but it was still humorous anyway. Though the crowd control for the show sucked big time. I think I was touched by half of Amazon trying to navigate my way to section to stand in. I tried snapping some pictures but since I was being jostled from all angles I don't imagine any came out. I'm going to take a look after I type up this and I'll post a few if they look ok.
- Sunday had Fuyu and I venturing forth in search of sustenance. In the end, we went to Zeena's on Madison St which I highly recommend. The food was good and the service was fairly prompt considering how busy the place was. It's a shame it's only open for breakfast and lunch because I'd definitely go there more if I had the chance. Though what really made me love them was the fact that they brought me a hot chocolate in a beer stein instead of the usual coffee mug. That right there is instant love for me ;)
- Fuyu ran a few clothes errands but didn't find anything. I got a mostly see-thru dragon covered shirt and a black suede jacket. I already have a brown suede jacket but I like the color black much more if I had to choose. It's a bit tight along the wrists but other than that it looks good on me. Always a plus :)
