- Kajukenbo lessons have been good but they are definitely kicking my ass stretching-wise. I'm not nearly as limber as the other girls in class are. I can barely do the push-up position for more than 5 seconds. Then again, I've never been that strong in my arms. I have stick arms to be perfectly honest. I haven't decided if I should get a couple small weights to condition my arms or not. Nothing too heavy because I'm not training to be a body builder or anything.
- In other news, I've been sleeping like crap lately. It's the friggin' 80-95F degree heat every day that's the problem. I can't sleep when I'm overheated. I've tried like mad to cool down my place with fans and open windows but it doesn't seem to do any good. It never gets any lower than 76-78 in my apartment. Ug.
- Last night I watched the Stephen Fry movie Wilde. Judging by the almost scathing reviews on Netflix, you'd think this movie was a soft core porn film. Either I watched the wrong movie or they equate two men kissing as porn. That's about the most you get in this film. Yes, there are a few male butt shots but that's about it. Crimney, I have written stories that have more nudity than this.
Anyway, the movie itself was fairly good. I'll admit that I don't know much about Oscar Wilde other than he wrote several plays and books. I will tell you one thing, he was a moron for loving Boise. The guy treated him like dirt for most of the film. In fact, there wasn't one moment that I liked his character which was played by Jude Law. It's funny that people think he's hot when I think he's ugly as hell. Something about his face just bugs me. Also in the film is the future Mr Fantastic Ioan Gruffudd as one of Oscar's lovers. Even Orlando Bloom has a really small part as a rentboy, his first film role. Stephen's performance was, of course, very good. I mean, what do you expect from a man who idolized Oscar Wilde when he was a kid? :)
