I went to the Moon Viewing at the Japanese Gardens in Seattle on Saturday. The weather was pretty good so I didn't have to down nearly as much water as I thought I would.
They had Kabuki and musical performances during the event. They weren't bad but I'm too spoiled by the Kabuki Academy's performances. There were too many screw ups during the third dance that were downright embarrassing. Granted that I'd be nervous performing in front of a lot of people but still the women looked bored doing it.
Not to mention the selections were slow and dull movement-wise. Another reason I like the Kabuki Academy performances as they rarely almost put me to sleep. Then again, Fuyu is usually dancing when I see them so that might be the reason ;)
Though I did really like the storytelling segment which was called Taketori Monogatari (Kaguyahime). Basically it had a man on the stage playing percussion accompaniment to a women who read/acted out the story. It was an interesting story overall, though I think I've heard it before somewhere else.
Pictures from those performances:

I've been there once before in early March 2008 but the trees were still empty and not blooming yet. It's amusing looking at those pictures and seeing the ones I took on Saturday. It's like night and day. I should probably upload those at some point but here are the ones I took over the weekend:
