Freddie
Freddie Mercury died 17 years ago today. I can't believe it's been that long. It seems like yesterday finding out via MTV that he passed away. Every time I think about it, I think that life is unfair. Taking someone so awesome on a lot of aspects at the age of 45 :(
Thankfully he left us with a ton of music to listen to and marvel at. In fact, I'm playing my entire Queen collection (around 15 albums) at work today. It gives my co-workers a break from Avantasia, Gamma Ray, Helloween, or Edguy which ironically were all influenced by Queen in some way.
I've wondered if that was why I was drawn to them in the first place? I know it was for Gamma Ray as I didn't fall in love with Kai's voice until I heard him sing "The Silence", a very Queen-like song if there ever was one.
