Weekend Turntable

My weekend went on and on... and on.

001. ADVERTISING PRELIM EXAM, CRAP.

I prepared. I did prepare big time for this major exam. I read, internalized and memorized. The topics covered are as follows:

a. Intro to/ Principles of Advertising
b. The Advertising Solar System
c. Code Of Ethics in Avertising and
d. PR's top advertisers, clients and their products

Studying the Code Of Ethics was fun. We get to cite in real ads who violate such provisions that makes it easy to remember everything written there. The shit part on the exam was the top advertisers, clients and their products. It covered almost half of the 30-item modified true or false test (if the statement is false, change the underlined term and supply it with the correct answer). Most that were included are the ones not written in our hand-outs.

I knew it! I should've gone to 7-11 or Mini Stop first before taking the exam to look at the grocery items and see to which company each belongs. But... we actually went to Mini Stop, P. Noval branch- but I forgot to browse through the products, instead, I ended up buying a Hot Loops doughnut. Suchashit.

One of the questions in the test went like this:

Modified True or False: Vaseline is a product of Johnson & Johnsons

Of course, it's a FALSE statement. It was an easy question!
I personally know that the shampoo brand is made by
and the TV ad makes it a dead giveaway because at the last part of the commercial, a girl screams "from Unilever." Remember?

So I changed Johnson & Johnsons to Uniliver. Please note the spelling: UNILIVER with an "i."
Hell wrong! It wasn't the right answer because it was misspelled! It's supposed to be UNILEVER with an "e." Crap!

Then, there were 2 questions that I found easy, but then again, I screwed!
Who made Safeguard and Joy? Huh? The answer must've been:

I know it, ofcourse! The biggest client so far. But the catch is... I misspelled it again!
I wrote PROCTOR AND GAMBLE with an "o" making it a proctor as the teacher.

Hell no! I'm knocked by 2 points for this company alone, plus my 1 point for Unilever.
I don't know whether to laugh or scream! Whatever!

I ended up accumulating 14 points out of 30.
The highest pointer scored a 20.
The lowest got a 4. I think. Or lower?

002. OUT AT PROVIDENCE, TAFT.

"Tambayan ng mga tibo" yeah, and they say... who cares? Maphy, my very bubbly- super close girlfriend tagged me and JV along to Providence, Taft. So ok, she paid for my 2-way fare. Haha.

While at the FX, we called Jonas Baltazar, our long lost blockmate and asked if he could join us that night. Did we ask or did we leave him with no choice at all? Hmmm... so there, he said "yes!" he's joining us and he's arriving at 8:00 sharp and leaving by 9 to make it to his 10pm worktime.

Whoa! There's Jonas! Oh my, he's hot! Superb! Big biceps baby! I swear, our former blockmate, cheat mate, yosi mate and toma mate has upgraded! Hehe! Big time! Or should I say, ehem, BIG TIME!

003. RESTLESS ON A SUNDAY!

I woke up at 12:00 noon, sunday. By 1pm, I went to Vicente Cruz to meet Maphy again and get the mic from her (the one specially made for dubbing purposes).

By 2:30, I went to España and find myself a Fairview jeep. Then off I go to Ever Commonwealth to meet Jane and hand her the mic.

Jane and I met at around 4 and after that, I went to Mandaluyong to meet my mom. Good thing my Ninang prepared lots of food, so finally, I was able to restore my energy. We stayed there until 10pm. Haay... it was a stressful week I must say.

... suddenly Monday.

fun-fun, block parade, random thoughts
