Lab work and FE.

The advantage of being in the natural sciences: lots of downtime to take care of my hobby, and lots of uptime so I can work on what I really enjoy doing.

Arms sore from moving four metric tons of dirt yesterday. But! It was that, or let dad take it care of it all, and I can't just sit there and watch!

Left a round of scathing reviews on FF.net in the two fandoms that I follow. Seriously. If you want to tell a story, at least have a good idea behind it.
FSN: RinxShirou ... make little sense, UBW-route ending or otherwise. It was just Nasu's way of getting Shirou to hook up with all three of the main heroines.
FE: If I see one more OOC Aiku, I am going to hack something.

Character analysis: Ike.

Let's put it this way. Ike, by definition, is a "stagnant" character. He, unlike the majority of literary protagonists, remain MORE OR LESS CONSTANT.

There. I said it. Ike's outlook on life, his personality, everything. They're the same, from the beginning of PoR to RD. He's not some idealistic prince realizing, oh mah gosh, life ISN'T a perfect place (Marth, I'm looking at YOU) or princess who realized that omg, you know what? People are gonna die!

Nope, he's Ike. Sword-swinging, steak-chomping, simple, kind, a real "warrior" in the traditional sense, if you will.

"Wait, wut? lolz is ike flat chatarter den? omg ike boring"

No no no no no no. I didn't say that. Ike's story ... is primarily of him growing up. In a sense, there are no radical changes associated with Ike's character. He's still blunt, mostly asexual (not interested in anyone - sorry, IkexSoren or IkexRanulf shippers), and well, he's still a "good guy." Despite all the things he went through, Ike is no different than who he was before - even after walking through the fall and rise of two kingdoms, stopping intercontinental conflict, and doing battle with a goddess.

"Son of Greil, I see you have not changed."

-Black Knight.

Look. The guy knew the value of family and friendship and love already, way before any of us started writing. He knew what it was all along - he just grew more comfortable showing them. That's all.

So will you please stop having Ike discover love/friendship/whatever?  Seriously. This whole "Thanks to you I now know what love is" is really, really getting to me.
