One of my generals found some interesting details when combing through the various translations of the Radiant Dawn script. Such a pity I didn't do this before I got out my last chapter...
Lucia: Queen Elincia, don't listen to them! Don't worry about me!
Crimean Rebel: Quiet! You can die sooner, if you like!
Geoffrey: ...Your majesty, you can't...you have to let me do something about this.
Elincia: ....
Geoffrey: Lucia would willingly die fighting for her country, I know, But you have to help her, Elincia. If you were in her position, she would surely do the same. Please, just give the word.
Japanese/Chinese script, translation done by me. XD
C: [ルキノ]
エリンシア大人,不可以!!不能因为我…
Lucia: Queen Elincia, no! (Or, You cannot!) You cannot because of me....
J:[ルキノ]エリンシア様、なりません!! 私のことなど…▼
Lucia: Queen Elincia, don't give in to them [because of me. Last portion, like the Chinese script, is difficult to translate.]
Note: Lucia sounds a lot less confident than the English version, mm?
Skipping a few bits here and there...English translation done by me after crosscomparing the two scripts.
[エリンシア]
ルキノ…!!
[Elincia]
Lucia....!!
[ジョフレ]………女王陛下、どうか私に反乱軍追討のご命令を。▼
[ジョフレ]
………女王陛下,请下令让我去讨伐叛军。
[Geoffrey]
....Queen Elincia, allow me to sortie out and eliminate the traitors.
[[SEE HOW THIS IS SO MUCH DIFFERENT?]]
[エリンシア]
!!
[[Elincia]
!!
[ジョフレ]
请就当姐姐已经死了。
[Geoffrey]
Please pretend [my] sister is already dead.
[[This is what really hit me while writing Beneath Azure Skies this morning. For Geoffrey to be able to say something like this...can you imagine? Either way, this script is markedly different than the English one. The English script ... made him a lot less badass and less duty-bound. I suppose it's a little more realistic. Either way, most of the Japanese script merges these lines into Geoffrey's speech below.]]
[エリンシア]
ジョフレ……
[Elincia]
Geoffrey....
[[Yeah, for her to hear Geoffrey say this, it probably hurts even more.]]
WARNING BADASS OVERLOAD. BADASS OVERLOAD.
[Geoffrey]
Long ago,[or before, ((depending on your interpretation of the words])) we made our vows to you. No matter how many hardships there are [in our lives/we encounter], we will live [survive] for Queen Elincia. Sister and I have never once forgotten this promise we've made.
Yet... we do not want to exchange our lives with the life of the nation itself so we could drag out our days in an ignoble existence. To sacrifice our lives for Crimea [See translation notes below], that is our one true wish. If it was me who was captured,[my] sister would surely say the same words to your Majesty as well.
....If, Your Majesty, you still trust [my] sister, then please, [utilize your wisdom and make the right judgment] do the right thing.
I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY.
NOTHING.
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I see that as the pinnacle of Geoffrey's badassery. Seriously. How much more loyal can he get?
And you know what he REALLY means when he says Crimea/Nation/whatever. Oh, no. It's ELINCIA. Some copies of the Japanese script just have "you" simply, which is what I'd see as canon rather than this. It's just..this little paragraph summarizes the relationship between the three so very well, it almost made me shed MANLY TEARS, again.
And seriously. Does this remind anyone of a certain red-haired cavalier in FE7 or another red-haired Paladin in FE8 or -
To HELL with Aiku and his Tactician/Pet tiger Cat buddy. FOR THE GLORY OF CRIMEA!
