wow, three days til surgery

So, it's come around quite quickly really; three days til surgery.
Hopefully I can try and capture the past week as accurate as possible.
I'd planned to work til last Wednesday but alas, I arrived at work for no longer than ten minutes on Monday the 14th, and I had this huge wave of nausea and feeling fait. Megan had come back from holidays and I was quite looking forward to seeing her; As I told her later in an email, even though we've had disagreements and much difference in ipinion at times, I was feeling a bit sad as we had been told about some changes taking place at work and for us it means that Megan will be moving on and we'll get another TL.
Anyway, back to this fainting routine which has become more or less a routine for me lately. I ended up flat out on the floor with everyone rushing around trying to find a first aid person. One was found, a lovely lady from CET. She sat with me and her and Megan were talking to me about my tablets (I've gotten some side affects). anyway to cut a long story short, dad came to pick me up and I stayed in bed the majority of Tuesday though I went to box Hill for a blood test in the morning.
Thursday I went to Box Hill again for the procedure to get the dreaded permacath inserted. Of course it's good in the way I don't have to get pricked all the time but it is uncomfortable, not to mention the healing process takes a while.
Anyway, I got two locals so it didn't hurt - just a lot of pushing and pulling. I felt blood dripping down my arm; it was gross.
So after being in recovery for a while, I was taken to dialysis where they attached me to a big machine and I had round one of my plasma exchange. I had to pause a couple of times as my BP dropped and I thought I was going to faint. Saturday was a repeat but that day and today, they put the actual AB blood plasma in me as oppose to just filtering out antibodies.
Unless I hear otherwise, the next plasma exchange I have will be at the Austin on Wednesday, the day before surgery.

The tablets have given me diarrhoea; I thought it would only be til I settle in but alas, it still plagues me. My specialist reduced my dose though I'm yet to talk to him properly about that since it was only through Charlotte he suggested it this morning.

I had B over on the weekend and he came Thursday night and he'll be back tomorrow night to support me as he knows how scared I am about all this. He's been so good and I've been quite snappy to everyone. Friday was the worst day though, the day after the cath was put In, I was in so so much pain, just constantly; it would not let up and I just couldn't cope.
Everyone on fB has been so supportive as I've written about my journey each step of the way. LJ still gets everything in one big entry whereas there's of course smaller updates more as it happens on FB.
Well, that's about all for now. I might write tomorrow.
