A month to go

Jun 17, 2014 20:18

So I'm here.
A month from yesterday I will finish work and a month from today I am going to have a line inserted and begin the plasma exchange leading up to when dad and I go into the Austin hospital on the 23rd. The transplat will take place on the 24th and I will apparently have the line removed the day I go home from hospital, so a week from then. (that was a long sentence, sorry.)
So it's all happening. Megan asures me my leave has all been set up. Today was her last one at work for a month as she's tripping off to china. She gets back one or two days before I leave. scarey.
Dad saw my surgen today to go over last minute stuff like what kidney they prefer to use after all the work up etc; I'd already met him before along with Mum.
I go to my Kidney specialist dr Stambe for the final time next week as he no longer sees me post the transplant which will be sad in a way; he's lovely and I will miss him.
Dad and I go to box Hill on the 8th of July which will be the last apt before I begin my plasma exchange.
The Surgen today was telling Dad how good this all looks ie, he can see quite a high chance of success in this situation. My dear Dad's Kidneys are better than average so with that in mind, he believes it will be quite a good outcome; I am positive about that; still nervous of course and that won't change but after talking to dad then, I am feeling a lot more hopeful about it all.
No doubt emotions will be running high as my day gets closer, so I'll make more of an effort to write in this thing.
Also, not that I've mentioned this in here but I have an audioboo account at: www.audioboo.fm/rdfreak. I will write a public entry soon with my internet accounts where people can get hold of me and listen to audio updates from the hospital in case I can't write in here which I prob won't be; Maybe i'll get brave and take my mac though; we'll see. :)
OK all for now; will write soon.
Til next Time, RdFreak
