And.... cue stuff

First off, Happy Birthday, Andrea! Hope its a good one!

Phhhhhhew... Sent out my manuscript thing. Everybody, wish me luck.

Here's some stuff that currently interests me:

1. Already they're talking about a Sherlock Holmes sequel. This, I can see. But, Brad Pitt is interested in playing Moriarty? AHAHAHAHAHA, unless they turn Holmes' greatest enemy into an evil Southern Gentleman, this is sort of a laughable idea (Brad Pitt is not exactly known for his linguistic talents). Mind you, as soon as I saw Sherlock Holmes' sequel and Brad Pitt in the same sentence, i thought, sarcastically, "He'll be Moriarty!" And then I read that my absurd casting idea was actually in the works. Oh man. I mean, I love the guy, but there are some genres, namely awesome period literature-base films, he should stay the hell away from. But, as with sometimes inane ideas like this, I can't help being somewhat curious...

2. I had the craziest. cameo-packed dream last night where I learned the secret of the "LOST" island. For some reason, the island was actually a giant TV Guide environment. Yeah. We were walking around and found these giant stone letter. After observing them, we discovered that the letters spelled out things like "Tonight, CSI: Whatever, 8/7 PM central!" So, following this discovery, I, along with Sun, Ana Lucia (WHY HER?!), and that Richard eyeliner guy (I think this was the group. At one point I'm pretty sure either John Locke or that gay bearded pirate guy chased a dog into the water and reached the "end of the page" where they promptly froze to death (Thanks, Mr. Vonnegut!) So the group and I figured that, in order to set things right on the island, we had to go through the TV Guide into other shows and set things right in the other shows. Basically, make TV better. So we went through to about 5 different shows, your basic criminal, hospital and everyday/highschool dramas, a sitcom and ending with a cartoon (that was X-MEN). I'm pretty sure Vincent D'onofrio (SUGAR. AND WATER) was in the criminal world, and that one black chick from Bones (I don't watch these shows), and then we went to a Grey's Anatomy-type place, followed by a world where I had to help Rosario Dawson with her career at McDonalds (I guess this was the average everyday drama, but where Rosario Dawson comes in, I don't know), which led to a sitcom sort of Sex-in-the-City type world, and then Sun and I were running around with the X-Men, namely Storm, Angel and Colossus, fighting against a possessed, evil Wolverine. Somehow, I think Heroes might have mingled in with that last one. Then I was abruptly awakened by my allergies.

So yeah. There's the secret of the island, revealed. My brain needed that...

3. Ok... Fandom spew: Red vs. Blue. I feel like I'm the only person who still watches this show, but I'm cutting it anyway.

Okay. RvB. I really liked the initial run of the Blood Gulch Chronicles. It started dragging around the end of season 3 into 4, but then got good again towards the end. And we had the little mini-series, which featured the serious, free-lancer stuff. Those were different, but in a good way.
Then, we got a bizarre mingling of the comic and serious with Reconstruction, which, initially started out slow, but soon became FANTASTIC. There was a lot of action, comedy, a great storyline, and great new characters. Sure, we lost a few characters, namely Tucker and Donut, for a majority of the run, but there was still enough of the old series to keep it funny, with enough of the new stuff to make for really interesting developments.

Then came Relocated, which, was sort of forgettable in the fact that it just sets up Recreation and brings back Donut in a... bizarre way (though my disinterest may have come from the fact that I had limited internet when it aired). So far, Recreation has been kind of bland, too, though. It started out with potential, sort of the way the first season did with focusing on the silly Red discussions (and since the red team was basically reformed only with a comatose Donut, we got Lopez back for witty Spanish banter!). But since Caboose was really the only Blue left, it really kind lopsided. Caboose is a great character, but he really needs a leader-type to play off. Most of the time it was Church, but he had classic moments with Sarge, and later Washington (and earlier, O'Malley!Caboose-Tucker conversations were funny, though in reverse, since O'Mally!Caboose became a "leader" for Tucker to play off). Anyway, even when Caboose ends up going along with the Reds, he keeps wandering off to work on his Church-project. Which isn't really revealed until more than half-way through the series, even though everyone pretty much can guess what he's up to. Since episodes 13 and 14 aired (the past 2 weeks), it's gotten slightly better. Because A)Tucker's back, and B)episode 14 ended with an amnesiac floaty Church ball. So now the playing field's evening out again, and the Meta is again on a rampage (WTF? I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD TOO!). Simmons had a classic moment and Lopez whipped out the big guns. So finally, a little action! I have a feeling Recreation is going to end on a high note, even if the majority of this season has kind just felt like its been dragged out). But, might I add, the ODST shorts were hilarious! Especially the last one. Aha... lazer eyes...

Anyway, maybe I'm just a little bored because Church is my favorite character and, while he got a lot of fun dialogue and plot last time around, this series, with the exception of the trailer, has had a severe lack of Church up to this point. But now he's back, sort of, and Washington might be coming in soon, and hopefully we're going to figure out what happened to Tex... it's taken way too long to reveal what happened with her, though they've been dropping clues all over the place. But basically, I think that now the balanced team dynamics are coming back (Sarge even commented on this), the series will pick up. ramble ramble ramble...
all right I'm boring myself now...

So yeah. That's what's up.
