Sacramento Heritage Festival

Today was the eleventh annual Sacramento Heritage Festival, which I'd never heard of or seen advertising for until stinky_monky told me about it a week or so ago (and I passed along the info in an earlier post here).  It started at 11:00am, but we didn't get there until about 4:00pm, so we only saw two acts:  Jackie Greene and Everclear.  Greene is the one of the most heavily hyped musician to come out of Sacramento since the Low Flying Owls, and he's pretty good.  More blues-y than I usually care for, but it was pretty cool to sit and listen to decent music while facing the Sacramento River and Old Sacramento from the River Walk Park in West Sacramento.

It was even cooler to see Everclear (one of my faves) play there.  The band had no opportunity for a soundcheck and it showed, but it was a good set for ten bucks.  I took some pictures with my cell phone (which has more features than I'll ever use) that turned out pretty bad (because I guess you're not supposed to actually use the built-in zoom lens), and I don't know how to transfer them to my computer anyway.  So, um, you don't get to see them.

All in all, it was a good time.  And the sunburn isn't nearly as bad as I expected.
