Dammit, we left California to get away from this crap

Our neighbor's house got broken into today.  The burglar(s) kicked in the back door and went through every room in the house, but only took a laptop.  Another neighbor noticed a suspicious car and took down the license plate, though, so hopefully something good will come of it.  I was already frustrated from school-type stuff and had just started playing Guitar Hero to clear my head when a cop knocked on the door and told me about the break-in.  Now there are all kinds of angry memories resurfacing from the Great Easter Robbery of 2005.

But it also helped put my conference paper fiasco in perspective.  Failing to find a useful argument about air pollution in California kinda pales in comparison.
