ashes to ashes

Last night I saw something that I'll never see again for as long as I live...

A Mexican Golfer!!!??? Yeah... in the Bronx, waiting for the train at 11:30pm in FULL golf attire. Golf shoes, blue, green and yellow plaid properly lengthed shorts, a sweater vest, polo shirt underneath the vest, golf glove, cap, big ass golf bag full of clubs etc.

At that point I came to question reality. Was this all just a simmulation? Was I experiencing some kind of time-space disturbance? I think it was one of the most serious glitches in the Matrix that I've ever experienced. It really defied all logic.

Anyways, as usual, I'm here in the office, watching the day hours roll by from behind the windows as the florescent lights beam down on me while I sit in front of the computer and paperwork. Everyone left around 1pm as is customary here on Fridays. It's pretty much just the IT guys still here, but they're always here. No supervisors et cetera.

It's a tad boring but I'm fine. I'm a pretty introspective person. There's always tons going on in my mind so it's not really hard for me to do work that doesn't require too much. I might as well be on an episode of The Rugrats the way my mind occupies itself when no one's around. Most of the time people are around though so that's cool too.

I find it interesting how limited time becomes as I slowly immerse myself into the world of the fully functional adult. I find myself planning so many things now waaaay ahead of time because I just don't have the time, or can't make the time to do things at the spur of the moment. I can't even count how many parties I've turned down in the past month because I was invited a week or two in advance, which isn't enough notice anymore. I'm supposed to meet people for food after work, alligator tail and whatnot (omg can't wait), and the earliest I could schedule was mid July. WTF? LOL.

So yeah I've definately been doing lots of work and lots of scheduled partying, but very very little actual hanging out. It ends up being fun to figure out new ways to be the most productive with my time. Lots of planning ahead, AND lots of enjoying the present. It's just faster now than before.

Father's day is coming up which is no biggie. I'm more excited at the prospect of sending my dad and his wife to Hawaii next year for his 50th birthday! It's gonna be the most awsome feeling to surprise him and finally give something back and show that his 23 years of effort actually translates into tangible things as well.

My mom turns 50 the year after. I'm so glad I have a lot more time to save up for her since her birthday is in November, because she deserves 10 times more. I just still can't decide which place is good enough for her though. First thing that comes to mind is The Fiji Islands though. What other places are nice?

Damn half-a-century old farts! I love those guys though. They're okay people. Ha! :-P
