I make Instapundit for the second time. The first time was regarding my move to Nevada; now,
it's the ending to a piece I wrote on the continuing IRS scandal. Here's the ending: For the IRS to function effectively, it needs both a reasonable budget and to be apolitical. It’s vital that the Department of Justice go after individuals who turn the IRS into a political organization from an apolitical one. Yet the current Administration apparently doesn’t see the urgency in this issue. That’s a huge mistake, and one that will definitely come back to haunt them and all Americans. We need a well functioning IRS…and given what the Administration is doing (and not doing), it’s very likely the budget for the IRS will continue to shrink.
Yes, the IRS scandal is still out there...and it's still quite bad for this Administration.
I was not part of the ObamaCare 6. Expect this to come back and haunt many Democrats next year: "Senate Democrats supported rule that led to insurance cancellations." Obama Administration knew full well that many would lose their health plans. DC Appeals Court backs challenge to ObamaCare contraception mandate. Next stop: US Supreme Court.
This won't cut it--Bill Maher:
President Obama had to lie to help dumb Americans.
Washington Post: How political fear was pitted against technical needs. CBS: White house warned three years ago that ObamaCare was in deep trouble. Will insularity, incompetence, and lies doom ObamaCare? An excerpt:
Insularity, incompetence, and deception doomed the launch of the Affordable Care Act, according to postmortems on President Obama's health insurance law. The president now has two choices: A) Accept the verdict and learn from it, or B) stick with insularity, incompetence, and deception.
Early signs point to Obama compounding rather than correcting his team's errors.
House GOP to let Obama and Democrats stew in the problems that they've made. Mish has a great piece on the website noting there is "no reasonable expectation of privacy" in the coding of the website and how that cannot be HIPAA compliant. The next shoe to drop: Officials expressed concern that the next shoe to drop in the evolving story about the Affordable Care Act would be disappointment from consumers once they are able to get on the troubled HealthCare.gov website - disappointment because of sticker shock and limited choice, according to a new document obtained by CNN.
You may get a choice of keeping your doctor or your hospital, but not both.
That's what one cancer patient has found out. I'm going to note a hilarious editorial in the New York Times:
Congressional Republicans have stoked consumer fears and confusion with charges that the health care reform law is causing insurers to cancel existing policies and will force many people to pay substantially higher premiums next year for coverage they don’t want. That, they say, violates President Obama’s pledge that if you like the insurance you have, you can keep it.
Mr. Obama clearly misspoke when he said that.
I earlier posted links to President Obama stating 27 times that if you liked your plan you could keep it, period. No,
as PowerLine suggested this was not written by the Onion.
One good impact of Citizens United:
Judges dismantling regulations prohibiting fee speech.
Shhh:
The Tea Party is still out there.
