Applications to grad schools need to start happening. I need to ask some people for letters of recommendation this week. I am rather nervous.
Shit, while I am at it I need to finalize where I am applying. Even if I will most likely end up in the CS department here. Part of me really wants to go, but after many thoughts about this it does really seem like the best option. Many schools across the world are still open and encouraged for the PhD level.
It was kind of nice to get back to class and see a bunch of people in the past week. Classes for the most part look interesting. I think it might be a fair amount of work, but that is something that doesn't really bother me.
We played The Game of Nim (google it!) in Combinatorics and then I later trounced Anne-Marie in game after game on Friday. I didn't even use my fancy math skillz to win!
Ryan Drabble has left the outhosue with a large living room but we all miss him.
I'll be in Vancouver January 27th-29th. I am giving a talk at a math conference. Come hang out with me if you are in Vancouver. So far I am free outside of Friday evening - Saturday afternoon.
I should write something more interesting in here, but generally I only write in this when I am trying to divert myself from doing something else. Today it is my Math 401 talk. Eeeeek.
