So for the benefit of, well, nobody...I guess I'll update.
Summer is almost over, and that totally sucks. I'm almost completely content with this summer. Who would imagine that I could enjoy working, but I kind of do (there might be a certain someone that helps that :-D). Anyways, I've worked a LOT, and now my schedule has totally expanded this week too, but I'll explain that in a second. I worked 12 hours on Sunday, and it wasn't too bad at all. I worked with Polly in the morning, and I worked with Erin at night. That is always fun. Now for the big work news:
Tim got fired on Monday. After 2 1/2 long years of working with the "immortal" Tim, he's gone! I'll explain: Tim was stealing money. Subway has a deal for 4 6-inch sandwiches for $10.99, which comes out to $11.98 with tax. When a customer orders that deal, and pays for it with $12, Tim would not ring it up, and instead, just pocket the money. It pretty much works, since only 2 cents would have to be given in change, so no money would really be missing. The bread count would be off, but that's not really a huge deal to the manager. He decided one fateful day to tell me that he was doing it, and told me to keep it a secret or he would say that I was stealing too. I kept it a secret for about 2 months. I planned on keeping it a secret, but Tim got on my nerves at times with his laziness, and he just wasn't much of a pleasure to work with. I had another motive. Kim got a new job at Cub Foods, and will now only be working one night a week at Subway. Amanda doesn't close much at all, and Casey doesn't close a whole lot either. So if Tim got canned, that would leave two people: Ryan and Erin ;-). So anyways, I decided to tell Casey about it finally. Casey and I worked on the plot to tell the manager, which she did on Friday. Tim was away for the weekend, and during the course of the weekend, we heard nothing else about it. We were extremely afraid that they weren't going to do anything about it, and he'd get off scott-free. Anyways, on Monday afternoon, I got the call. Alice called and asked me if I could close on several different days, and I knew it had happened. Shortly after, Erin called my cell and told me all about it. He was gone! We are happy! Case closed.
I've also decided that during the school year, I'm going to come home on weekends and work. My roommate was already planning on driving home every weekend to work at the Lindo, so I figured it'd be fun for me to do the same, and I wouldn't have to say goodbye to the job I kind of almost love. :-D. It'll probably be annoying for me to ride back and forth for 4 hours every weekend, but I think it'll be alright. I think I'd miss Erin too much anyways :-D.
Softball playoffs began tonight. We won pretty good; it was like 13-6 or something like that. I turned a double play tonight, which isn't easy to do in slow-pitch softball. It was fun, and now we play again in two days since we won. On Thursday, I have to work from 11-6, then go to my game, and then come back and work from 8-CL. It's alright though, I volunteered to work an 11-hour day that day, but I will get my two-hour break in between to go play. I have another 11-hour work day on Sunday, which will be okay too. Wes, Polly, me, and Erin...which is like the ultimate lineup of workers because I haven't worked with Wes in SO long, Polly is fun, and Erin is Erin :-).
On a final note: THE CUBS SUCK. I really hate them right now! I'm not even going to vent about my hatred towards their suckiness.
Goodnight all!
