Wow. It's been an insanely long time since I wrote here. Obviously, though, I took my real journal with me on my trip to Guatemala. But, I am far too lazy to type it all out, and what's the point really. Anyways, Tahoe was amazing as usual. It was so great to see all my extended family. We had a little party to celebrate Uncle Wayne's retirement and a ton of us played Catchphrase. OH MY GOSH! It was so much fun! My cheeks were sore from all the laughing. Dave is just the funniest person ever and put him in a game like that, wow. The weather was very strange up there this year. It's not that unusual for one hail storm, but we had two and HUGE thunder and lightning storms too. It was awesome, though. But during most of the days the weather was bright and sunny. So weird. On Monday we had baby Kiley's dedication up on the big deck. It was nice, but the "minister" was by no means Christian. Oh well, no biggie. Later in the week Emily and I went canoeing and we ended up waaaaayy out in the deep deep blue. We must have gone like 5 miles off shore or something cause the wind and the waves kept pounding us and Emily was having too much fun to head toward shore. We were basically stuck out there when a motor boat who had passed by s already offered to give us a ride. Boy did we appreciate that. We never would have made it back by ourselves, there was just too much wind that we never made any progress no matter how hard we paddled. I also played a little disc golf with Caleb and Emily at the beginning of the week. It's sad I have so little time left with them.
When I finally got to see church-folk again, Ashley was the sweetest one. She was eager to hear about my trip and wanted to pray for me. She said it felt like something was missing when I was gone. I'm gonna miss all of the college group girls. But the closer I get to leaving the more excited I get. I can't wait to experience new things and meet new people, do something different for once! I'll be able to decorate my new room, have total freedom and responsibility, and the best part is my parents are paying for just about everything! One thing I hope I can find is someone to exercise with on a regular basis. I think I'm gonna need it if I'm going to keep to my goal.
Today was interesting. For the first time in my life I got a body wrap. It felt very weird, but the gal who was doing me was really nice and chatty. I went to Simply Beautiful and they have you do light exercise on little elliptical machines and/or a mini trampoline while you watch a movie to pass the time. I felt good afterwards. They said I lost 11 1/2 inches in the 18 places they measure. I can actually feel a slight difference, but I don't think it's worth the $125 I paid for it. I would much rather it all come off my stomach than my entire body. But oh, well. It was a new experience.
