I miss the trail- really I'd be excited for some natural light in general (lecture all day and the med school study area is really nice and plushy but in a basement so zero windows). I also wish I had more time for walking/running/working some other part of my brain than the hippocampus (memory processor of the brain?!- hurray for practical application of the undergrad degree).
School is a lot of information- everyday- around the clock. One prof said anything is possible- you can eat an elephant if you go about it bite by bite- now you all just need to learn to eat shovel sized bites. Had my first physio exam-- feeling pretty happy about it. Have another exam friday, and my first anatomy double header monday (lab practical and written)--- scary (also the only totally new area of study for me).
Other than that I've enjoyed meeting lots of new people but had briefly forgotten that the midwest is crazy conservative (and never thought about the fact the med school crowd would be a bit cookie cutter in that respect). Luckily the kids in my program itself seem pretty open minded and have had some pretty amazing experiences all around the world. Also hearing a lot from those crazy hikers-- nice to have a group to live vicariously through. Australia may be coming for a visit- that should be a weird twilight zone like experience.
ok- back to the books I go but have a good night kids
