www.mishasminions.com I really don't care if anyone reads this or not. I neither seek nor require any kind of feedback or attention. I leave that to insecure immature haters. This is a journal that is open and candid. I've held my tongue for way to long. This is how I feel. Take it with a grain of salt.
This was an accumulation of several people over a long period of time. And things that have not just happened to me, but others as well.
This need for competition for the attention of a celebrity has gotten out of hand. It has torn apart friendships and has put a stain on what the fandom is all about. To have fun and to openly exchange ideas between each other. It has become so incredibly mean. Most if not all of the drama is on Twitter.
I have no problem with sharing my creativity with anyone. If it's done with respect. Lately I have not seen any. It's all about who can get it done first and take all the credit and gain the attention of the person they want to impress. It's about how many people can I gain as followers. Or how many subscribers can I get on You Tube. Or how much traffic comes into my site. The mentality is "Looky looky at what i did". Please love me and stroke my failing ego. I admit I was guilty of this. Fortunately I stepped back and took a good hard look at myself. and realized that I liked myself enough that I did not need validation from anyone else.
I don't believe that this dark cloud that hangs over the "Supernatural" fandom is just this show. I can only comment on the this particular fandom because of my involvement in it. Ideas are suddenly becoming battle grounds for haters. I've yet to see any of these hater fans take the initiative to create anything on their own, and sharing it with the rest of us. They'd rather hide behind their keyboards and say mean and nasty things to the fans who have taken an active role in the creative process. To those fans who need constant attention of the celebrities and the fans. Need to get a grip. Find it within yourselves to like who you are and find an alternative outlet other than fixating on a celebrity. Message to the fakers. You are the worst part of fandom. Deceiving fans and preying on the very people you profess to admire. I'm not going to try and figure you out.
My message to the haters is this. Too much time is being wasted on competing with one another for attention. Name calling, bad mouthing and just all around bullshit. God have you not taken a look around? We have devastation in 2 countries. Loss of life, children with no parents and parents burying their children. People losing their jobs and their homes. Is it really worth wasting all that energy hating? Damn it do something productive and good. Pick up a shovel and help out an elderly neighbor clean up the weeds in their yard. Donate your time to a homeless shelter. You will see you have it pretty good. Hopefully realizing it is far better to work with someone than against them.
I offer up a challenge to all of you. To the people I thought were my friends and the haters alike. If you have the time and the means to sit behind your keyboards and hate. If you have the time and the means to go to places of insignificance. You have the time to help out others who don't have it so good. A friend and I have started a project called "Project Halo", inspired by "Minion Stimulus". We have taken the incentive and made the commitment to do more beyond fandom. I encourage all of you to do the same.
I leave you with this. Take a look at what you have. A roof over your head a bed to sleep in. Food to fill your bellies and your family close by. Now look at the devastation and the losses endured to the people of these 2 countries. Is getting crazy and obsessive over a TV show that important to you? Work together, create together and have fun. Leave the nastiness to the sewer rats.
Whatever your opinion is of me. Think of the message not the author.
