Managed to find the God Child Drama CD. It's the last of the drama CDs based on Yuki Kaori's Count Cain (伯爵カインシリーズ) manga series. I noticed that they changed the seiyuu for Riff (from Koyasu to Sugita Tomokazu) but to my shame, I didn't realise that it wasn't Kawata Taeko as Mary Weather. -.- The CD somehow sounded more polished that the previous two ones, but not necessarily in a way that's good. One of the reasons why I liked the Kafka and Miss Pudding CDs was because they sounded slightly dated and transposed in time. They were recorded in the late 90s after all. And that feel to them of reaching back in time when I listened to them fit the stories really well.
My favourite is the Miss Pudding CD. Nice and creepy. The full title's excellent: 切り刻まれ食べられたミス・プディングの悲劇 - The Tragedy of Miss Pudding, who was Sliced Up and Eaten. And it has a young Chiba Susumu falling over things and bumping into objects while being angsty. Haha! ^^ The second part of the CD about Cain's childhood was wonderfully eerie as well.
Kafka had a young Hoshi in it as an overprotective brother. xD I realised that Ki is right - his overly shouta voice *is* rather disconcerting. No way as off-putting as Miyata Kouki, though. I really like Hoshi's Gino-type voice. He's pretty normal in Kafka too. O-pappi. lol. Haha.
After this, I have the Ludwig Kakumei drama CD to look forward to. Not sure I want the Angel Sanctuary one. I read the first few chapters and watched the OVA, but wasn't completely sold. I think one of the reasons why I'm not that interested in that series is because I have to plough my way through 20 volumes of the manga. Not sure I want to spare the effort. I definitely want to get the Count Cain manga when I go to Japan, though. That and a few other Yuki Kaori books. Yay! It's annoying that Hana to Yume manga covers all have the same layout, though. They don't look very good sitting on my shelf. (lol)
If only they had something like last.fm for drama CDs and perhaps manga too, where they compile statistics of what you've listened to/watched, and give you recommendations according to that. I realise that I really like my non-BL drama CDs to be atmospherically creepy and on the dark side. I absolutely love the IM dramas.
And oh my gosh!!!!!!!! I just checked their homepage, and they have information on the rerelease of the Kaidokusho!!! xD xD xD It'll be on sale about 10 days before I get to Japan. I really really hope it doesn't sell out by the time I get there. Nuuuh. Fingers crossed!! I'm still so green when it comes to the Japanese pre-order/release date system. >.< Oh well.
