Is it just me, or there is a significant change of writing focus in Buffy fandom in the past couple of years, where femslash becomes more and more prominent, when male slash withers and dies?
I can hardly name 10 active male slash writers (and probably only 2 new names among them) anymore. Total number of active femslash authors won't be much higher, but given the ratio of F/F fic vs M/M fic (for instance, in 2013 only ~9% of Jossverse fic was femslash), it's very impressive.
Part of that surely is accomplishment of femslash_minis, but a lot of femslashers that pop up on AO3 are not connected to the comm (at least, not to my knowledge).

So, did times in Buffyverse fandom really change, or the only thing that changed is my reading interests?
