If you moved and didn't leave a forwarding address, I'd be very sad. I love you very much. Having been an active part of my life for over a decade, you're a very big part of it, and losing you would be bad.
That said, I can definitely understand alot of what you're going through. That would scare me too. But you don't have to do it alone. You may be an adult, but you don't have to do everything independantly. In this day and age, that would likely kill you before you hit 30. I'll always be here if you need to talk. Barring that, your boyfriend seemed really cool, and I'd bet he's helping you already, or at least trying his best.
Taking a semester off to straighten out other things is nothing to be ashamed of. And comparing yourself to your sister isn't the right way to go about things, nor is comparing yourself to anyone else. You can do these things, you'd just have to apply yourself harder. If you have other things you have to worry about, then you may need to take a semester off. You're living on your own, in a place far away from where you grew up and you're trying to cope the best you can. If anyone has an excuse to stay out of school for a semester to get things in order, the only person ahead of you would be the person who is in your situation plus having a kid or two. Fortunately, your situation in and of itself allows for the same liberty of taking a semester off justifiably.
I'm really sorry to hear about your grandma. Again, I'll be here if you need to talk or cry or punch or whatever. I'm always good for that sort of thing ;)
Just remember that there are alot of us out here who love you and care about you. I'll do anything I can to help you, even if it isn't alot.
And, as a sidenote, if you start smoking, I'm going to assume that you're on fire and take appropriate measures.
