Mmm...black-outs. Little festive occasions designed to bring mirth to those of us who don't panic.
Me: Hi Mom, power's out.
Mom: Well, oh my god, Sarah! What are we going to do? I've been in power outages that went for days! What if we have to live off the gas in our cars right now for days? What if we can't buy food? What are we going to eat?!? What if all the stores are closed?!? Did I restock the earthquake provisions? Do we have any freeze dried ice cream?!? I don't think you realize what a big deal this is!!!
Me: Well, for now, why don't I just go put gas in your car and buy us dinner?
Mom: Ok. You're really good in these situations, Sarah.
