Around 1:30 yesterday morning I went in search of a beverage seeing as how my throat was quite parched. I walked passed a window and glanced out. The trees were lightly swaying in the breeze, the grass was glistening with dew and a the silhouette of a coyote was walking into the front barn. Ya ever have a feeling where several extremely powerful emotions hit you all at once? Thats what I felt. Anger, Rage, Scream, Hurt, Cry etc. The locks were undone, I was through both doors, across the deck and on the other side of the pool in seconds. I didn't even know what to do so I clapped my hands and took off after it. Like somehow I could do something. Hurt it, kill it, make it scared. Somehow undo all the pain that that silly animal had caused me. Somehow make it never want to come back. It ran. It knew our property well. Something was odd tho, which I cant figure out. He had something around his neck. Something metal with some other material that sounded kind of like wood. He clanked when he ran. When he darted through the gate leading to the front pasture he got hung for a second by whatever that thing was around his neck. He then freed himself and ran off down the lane, clanking loudly all the way.

I had thought things had cleared up now that nearly all of our cats were dead. I thought. No word or sign for weeks and now they show up. The nerve. Since all had been well I haven't been overly strict about Havoc staying locked up at night since he does so hate it. I locked him up after that. I was so shaken I didn't get much sleep. I returned this morning to free Havoc as normal and found that the coyotes had since discovered where I was keeping our precious remaining kitty. They dug around the door for a while it appears but couldn't get in. Here is what it looked like:

I can only hope that the "thing" on the coyote's neck was a failed trap that someone had made.

On a lighter note, all 4 kittens have eyes as of today. I haven't taken any yet today but here are some from Friday, when they were all still closed.

They are all hooked on hissing at anything other than their mother so it made for some interesting photos.

Tis all for now. Night night.
