Fasching is the German version of Carnival or Mardi Gras. The neighbors got together & ventured out for the parade. I should have realized when the announcement about the parade came with a warning not to drink & drive that it wasn't really a parade geared to kids. I was just excited about living in a country where you can where your halloween costume twice! We went & laughed a lot at the various floats centered on the new no smoking law in Germany. But there was a lot of drinking and adults pushing to the front so I don't think we'll take the kids to the parade next year. As Erin said, "I've gotten a good dose of German culture to last me a while!"
