HELLSYEAH!
I PASSED! YAY! *dances* I HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENSE!
Wow, I was so nervous though. Seriously. I couldn't sleep at all last night. I got maybe 3 hours scattered about between midnight and seven thirty. And every so often I got the horrible nervous feeling in my chest and I couldn't get it to go away. But I wasn't tired. When we got there, we filled out the forms and stuff, and then I went and sat in the car. And waited.
And waited.
And waited. Forever. FOR-EV-ER. They were trying to psych me out, I swear.
So after about 45 minutes of sitting there the examiner guy came and got in the car, and I was nervous as hell. At first I didn't start the car all the way when I was backing out and didn't realize it, so I got some points off for that.
Then we drove and went into my grandparents neighborhood, and I did a Vermont turnaround thing. I did okay, though I was too far left. But that's better than hitting the curb, because you get more points off, and maybe fail automatically, for that. But no one ever, ever frickin does a Vermont turnaround.
Then we went into a neighborhood and I completely blew the parallel parking. Well, I could have corrected it, but the guy told me just to pull forward and go down the street. So at that point I was kind of let down because I thought I probably failed, but I still tried to make sure I did everything else right.
The hill start thing was fine. I didn't get any point off for that. I think I got something off for signaling late when the lanes merged or something. Then it was back to the DMV.
When we pulled in I still was thinking I probably failed, but I wasn't sure, and the guy started talking about how I messed up on parallel parking and to practice that and stuff, but then he said to go get a number to get my license, so I was relieved as all hell. I think he at least realized I messed up some because I was nervous.
So, if you get 21 things off you fail, and I got 20. So it was a close call, but I made it. So it's all dandy like candy, folks. Now I have a license. But still, get your own rides whenever you can because I don't want to get in trouble if I were to get caught driving someone. But yeah, whatever.
