You've made me remember something I wish the hack writers had elaborated on: Tyler's relationship with his dad. Ugh. I think that time at the party was the first time he laid his hand on him in that manner (when he backhanded him), but there's no doubt in my mind that he spent probably all of Tyler's life beating him down emotionally. I have a feeling nothing Tyler did was good enough. So I love the details of little Tyler knowing to straighten up as soon as his dad looked at him.
Also, my heart melted at the mention of Jeremy's finger-paintings. I can't help it!!!!
Okay, constructive criticism:
Is the hamsters name Lily or The Lily, because write "the Lily" every time you refer to her.

Matt did say that Tyler's dad would hit him so it must've happened more than that one time. Even Caroline knew to insert herself when Tyler and his dad were getting heated at the Grill in Founders Day. And Dick (the mayor) wanted Jeremy and Tyler to fight ... I feel like it was happening for a long time. I mean under what circumstances would Matt and Tyler be friends? Matt is the poor kid from the wrong side of the tracks and Tyler's dad is a founder with loads of land/property/titles.
And Ode to first season ... how I miss thee.
I bet Jeremy doodled pictures of Bonnie. I bet he still doodles things the compulsion missed. He mindlessly doodles then looks down and it's a picture of him stabbing Elena and he's like: WTF is this!?
