Summer Shudder

So much has happened between the last time i wrote in this thing and now so i shall start at the beginning. Sorry my journal for not writing in you, i have been very busy. Some ups...some downs. My brother graduated..he was decorated like an army lieutenant...i was muy proud of him. Good times the graduation was...there was even a firework display..not for the graduation actually, for a Jacksonville Suns Game, but ironic that they shot right after graduation. My grandma came down from Virginia to spend time with us, which meant GOOD FILIPINO FOOD EVERYDAY...delicious. Saw some old friends when i was back home. OVer the Hedge with Alex and Arnie was good times. It was also Alex and Tricia's "engagement party"..and even though i couldn't stay that long, it was fun..setting up, i wish i coulda stayed longer; but instead i passed up the plastic leis and bingo with 50 dollar steaks at Ruth Chris with my family and relatives for david's graduation..even trade for me. I feel so young though, with some of my best friends from high school already getting married...some graduating early...i'll still be in med school (hopefully) while everybody else will have a job. Normally i would say people who get married this young is a bad idea, but seeing Alex and Tricia together, they were really meant for each other, and as long as they can make it work i will be happy for them that they found the one they want to be with for the rest of their lives. Speaking of which..the downside to that..the girlfriend and me had a falling out back home. Things are complicated now because she was my best friend...and we went from talking almost every day to talking..well..once or twice since we broke up..and that was...almost a month ago? In a way i'm not to hurt by this one because it was a long distance thing and two i kinda felt it coming. Anywho, we will see where that one goes, lets just hope we can be friends again because it would be awkard considering we live 3 minutes from each other..go to the same church...and are going to go to the same wedding in a couple months.
Back in Gainesville, i am volunteering in a Family Practice Clinic Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 1-4..pretty much filing papers as of right now..hopefully doing more later. They are really short staffed, so they really appreciate my presence there, and for me that means a good recomendation for later. Plus..there is this ultra cute filipino nurse (yes i know oxymoron) there, so being stuck in the back for 3 hours 3 days a week isn't too bad. The person i actually work for is a year older than me, but shes the head of nursing/medical records. It's not bad, since its a shands affiliate, i work with alot of young fresh out of school people, so even though it can be boring at times filing charts, it's allright since my co-workers are pretty nice (plus..i'm the only guy there..so i do alot of the gruff work haha). This whole volunteering thing came because no body wants to hire an asian to work..until i actually started volunteering and then i got a call back...and now i don't even want the job....so i don't know if i am going to be working or not for money. Oh well. MCAT studying has begun for the August 16th exam. I need to be ready for this because this will determine the rest of my life. Matt browns bday today. It was sad because i have lived with him for 3 years (and we initially met because of my exgirlfriend who is also his exgirlfriend...god that sounds horrible)..and now we are moving away =(. Muy sad time when it will happen. X-MEN 3 was an awesome movie no matter what other people say. "I'm the juggernaut bitch" was the best. I tried to do this cool myth busters way of cooling down a beer a couple nights ago..where you spray the beer with a fire extinguisher...well..it woulda worked..if we only had the right fire extingushier. Instead of the NEW CO2 fire extinguishers...we have the old powder ones (of course we can't expect Melrose to provide us with anything good), so instead of creating a cool breeze...i created a cloud of yellow powdery smoke in our entire apartment and made everybody choke on the dust. It was funny..in a bad way. Hopefully this summer will bring other things besides work. Goodnight Journal.
